The Summer of…
Summertime is in full swing! With August just around the corner, your summer bucket list might look like 1) watching the Olympics 2) listening to Sabrina Carpenter’s “Please, Please, Please,” or 3) maybe even trying to live out your own version of having a BRAT summer. If BRAT stands for Baked-fresh-daily, Real-fruit-smoothies, Allergen-friendly Treats, then we’re having a BRAT summer too. And new to the line-up this week are seasonally inspired August Drink Specials. The only problem will be deciding which to try first…
Rolling to a Market near you- all about our new Food Truck!
New for the 2024 summer market season, we said goodbye to our one-of-its-kind popup shop trailer and welcomed in our new super-mobile, custom- painted food truck! While we will miss the cute scalloped facade of the pop-up trailer, we are thrilled to be bringing our new truck to local markets- making it even easier to deliver nourishing goodies to the community.
Q&A with local Musician, Virginia Masland
Local artist, Virginia Masland shared her musical talent with us during our last backyard concert at the cafe and is gracious enough to share some of her musical journey with us for this week’s blog Q&A. Read on to learn about her creative backstory and inputs as well as other local spots she’ll be playing this summer (in case you missed her)!
Q&A with local Musician, Joey Knouse
Friday night, artists Joey Knouse and Virginia Masland headlined our outdoor concert series for June, playing right here in the backyard of the cafe. We believe music is a joining force, with the ability to bring strangers together for a shared experience, one of the reasons we host monthly concerts!
Summer, Strawberry & Seasonal Specials
Summer is officially here! One of our favorite seasons at Tucker & Co., catch our brand new food truck at the Dillsburg Farmers’ Market Saturday mornings, join us for our summer outdoor concerts, or enjoy some of our limited-run feature menu items (hint: it’s strawberry season)!
A GF foodie’s guide to NYC
Tucked into central PA, it can be easy to forget that our small town is just a 3-hour-drive (or Amtrak ride) to New York City- and while it may be considered “the greatest city in the world” for theater, shopping or site-seeng, it also does not miss when it comes to gluten free food. Save these spots from our teams’ recent visits to NYC to add to your “must eat” list and plan your own day trip to the big city.
3 Matcha Drinks to Try
Matcha is known for its unmistakable green color and earthy flavor. When combined with milk and sweetener, it makes for the perfect coffee shop purchase. We offer three matcha drinks on the menu, Classic Matcha, Mountains & Waves, and the newly added Maui Matcha.
The Many Variations of Coffee
There are a lot of ways to drink your coffee. If you're like me, the options blend together - I mean, how many different ways can you combine milk, water, and coffee grounds and still have a different drink?
Busy in Bethlehem, PA
Isaac and I recently had the chance to treat ourselves to a lovely getaway in Bethlehem, PA. We stopped in a bunch of shops and restaurants in town, leaving with some exciting purchases and recommendations if you ever find yourself in this part of Pennsylvania. Here's a glimpse into what kept us busy in Bethlehem!
Running the Café as a Mom
Being a mom and owning the café are two of my proudest accomplishments, both equally challenging and rewarding in their own ways.
Let’s Get Real: Setbacks
We got a new panini press for the café! The story behind it, however, is not completely one of excitement, rather problem solving and adaptability.
Brainstorming as a Small Business Owner
Owning a small business allows me to dream big and work every day to reach my goals for the café. There is a constant need to innovate and project a vision, both short and long-term, into the operations at the café, which is a fun and creative challenge.
From My Heart: Foster Care
Foster care and adoption is something Isaac and I are very passionate about. Our son Xayvion came into our lives through foster care and in 2021, we welcomed him to our family through adoption. In fact, my family celebrated the three year anniversary of Xayvion's adoption this past weekend!
Small Town, Big Heart
Tucker&Co is located in Dillsburg, a place where small-town charm meets rich history. I have lived in Dillsburg (almost) my entire life and it is where I am raising my family and growing my business.
Trivia with the Tuckers
In case you missed it, we hosted our monthly trivia at the bakery café this past Friday. Our host Jared Veto had a packed house and some challenging questions for his participants. How much random knowledge do you have? Test yourself on some of the trivia questions from this past Friday as well as some original Tucker&Co Trivia!
Café Love Languages
Whether you're single or taken this Valentine's Day, we want to make you feel loved as our customers. Here's some fun ways to incorporate the bakery café into your week of love - ways for each of the five Love Languages.
Latte Art in Gettysburg
Our friends over at Presidents Coffee had their Latte Art Throwdown this past Friday in Gettysburg, so Tucker&Co took a team outing to put our latte art skills to the test and have some fun with friends!
Tucker & JOSEPH
One of my favorite bands of all time, JOSEPH, is on tour and they recently made a stop on our side of town. My husband and I bought tickets for their concert a while back and the day ended up being even more special than we could have imagined!
Back to the Grind - literally
Do you hear that hum? It's the newest addition to our bakery cafe’s back counter - an automatic dosing espresso grinder. I was recently able to make this exciting purchase thanks to a grant awarded by the York County Economic Alliance.
Life Imitates Art…
They say life imitates art…well we've noticed how our café playlists imitate us. It’s no wonder we keep hitting play on these songs at the café this winter…
In "To the Mountains" Lizzy McAlpine sings about heading to the mountains because it's the only place she feels at peace. Someone tell her to bring some Tucker&Co granola with her for her as she escapes the hustle and bustle to seek that inner calm!
