Bakery Blooms

When you stop by the cafe, you’ll notice we partner with local makers and growers to bring you a unique ‘market’ of goods created in our neighborhood, by our neighbors. Not only do we love connecting community members with one another, it’s a way for us to promote local business, making it convenient for our cafe customers. We’re thrilled to be partnering with one of our newest additions to the shop- local flower farmer, Jillian, of Whipwood gardens to offer fresh-cut bouquets.

While fresh flowers add a certain beauty to any space (including the cafe), when you purchase a bouquet, you can know that the flowers are grown just a few miles down the street. Jillian and her husband live on a 1700’s farm in Northern York County where they practice sustainable and regenerative farming techniques. Flower farmer Jillian’s love of nature is not newly found, she describes, “As a child I flitted barefoot through my neighborhood gardens whispering to the bees and caressing delicate flower buds.” Her early fascination inspired her to own a garden landscaping business for years before transitioning to growing and selling cut flowers. As a fellow woman-owned business, Tucker & Co is happy to bring Whipwood Gardens’ lush bouquets to the cafe. Featuring gorgeous seasonal blooms like lisianthus, pick one up for yourself (or a friend) for $20.

You can follow Whipwood Gardens on Facebook and Instagram to see behind-the-scenes flower growing content, find out when bouquets are dropping, and hear about events on the farm. Savor summer with fresh blooms for yourself, your child’s teacher, a neighbor or friend. Pair it with one of our sweet treats to make your (or their) day a little brighter.
